Windows 10 to begin warning about in-secure WiFi networks (WEP & TKIP)
Will the roll-out of the May 2019 (v1903) update, Windows 10 will start showing warnings when you are connected to WiFi networks utilising WEP or TKIP. Both protocols have long been deemed in-secure yet are still commonly used on older hardware.
Our advice is to switch the wireless encryption protocols to WPA2 / WPA3 if supported by the wireless access point, and if not, new hardware is required.
Microsoft state that whilst they still support both WEP and TKIP at the moment, future plans are to remove support for the old ciphers.
